Atol Aviation presents Atol Aurora

The Atol Mobile Hangar is a customised trailer designed for the Atol Aurora amphibious aircraft and its operations.

The aircraft, with its foldable wings, can be easily transported using this trailer. Additionally, it serves as a base during missions or outdoor adventures.

The Atol Mobile hangar can accommodate also other aircraft and can also be used without an aircraft. It can be customised; for instance, the windows are available.

The Atol Mobile Hangar offers an interior volume of 55.7 cubic meters (1,967 cubic feet) and measures 2,420 mm × 7,940 mm × 2,900 mm (95.3 in × 312.6 in × 114.2 in) inside.

The aircraft features two seats, a useful load of 270 kg (600 lb), and a maximum takeoff weight of 650 kg (1,430 lb).

Powered by a Rotax 912 iS Sport engine, mounted atop the aircraft in a pusher propeller configuration, the Atol Aurora offers an endurance of up to 5.5 hours and a range of 800km (450 nm) at a cruise speed of 145 km/h (78 kts).

The stall speed is just 74 km/h (40 kts), with a maximum recommended cruise speed of 167 km/h (90 kts).

Atol Aviation, a Finnish aircraft manufacturer, presents the new Atol Aurora LSA amphibious aircraft at AERO 2025.

The aircraft’s structure combines wood with aluminium and composites. With an emptyweight of only 380 kg (830 lb), the use of wood and plywood — treated like composite materials — provides a versatile, cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and easy-to-repair material, making it especially suitable for this type of aircraft.

The aircraft showcased at AERO 2025 is a prototype scheduled to make its first flight later in the spring. The base price of the Atol Aurora is € 299,000 (excluding taxes, customs fees, tolls, etc.)

Production line slots can be reserved for a small fee, and reservations can be easily transferred to a later date if needed.

Production of the Atol Aurora is ramping up following the prototype’s completion. The airworthiness certificate is expected in autumn, with first deliveries anticipated shortly thereafter.Atol Aviation is based at the former Finnish Air Force base in Halli, central Finland. AtolAviation is a trade name of Scandinavian Seaplanes Oy Ltd.

The company is the only manufacturer of amphibious aircraft in Europe and one of the few producers of modern, ready-to-fly flying boats worldwide.Atol Aviation will hold a press conference on Thursday 10 April 2025 at 14:00 at the Atol Aviation stand in hall B1-204.

The flight deck is equipped with Garmin G3X electronic flight instruments and KanardiaEmsis information system. Previous versions of the aircraft have accumulated over 1,000 flight hours and have proven highly suitable for operations on water, snow, and land — including gravel or grass airstrips. The takeoff distance from water at maximum weight, clearing a 15 m (50 ft) obstacle, is 460 m (1,500 ft).

The wings can be folded for easy transportation. Atol Aviation also offers a specialized transport trailer, the Atol Mobile Hangar, designed not only for transport but also as aversatile base for aircraft operations and accommodation during missions or outdoor adventures.
